Did you receive an audit letter from the IRS or your state tax agency?
We can run interference between you and them to ensure that you receive fair and equitable treatment and are assessed only the correct amount of tax. Oftentimes the auditing agency will look to maximize the amount of tax owed, and may overlook things that are beneficial to the taxpayer. Without professional representation, you may end up paying more tax than is necessary. We can help to ensure that your rights are respected.
When representing you in audit, one of our first steps is to obtain Power of Attorney, so that we can communicate directly with auditors on your behalf, saving you time and stress.
There's no getting around it: audits are no fun, but it doesn't have to be a nightmare. We can ease the process for you, so that you can get back to your life.
Are you receiving collections letters from the IRS or your state department of revenue? Are they preparing to seize your wages or bank accounts?
If you owe taxes we can analyze your situation to determine the best possible resolution for you. In some cases you may not have to pay the full amount of tax assessed, and may qualify to have penalties abated and interest reduced.

There are a variety of installment agreement types. Our favorite is the Partial Payment Installment Agreement, where you are only required to pay monthly an amount you can afford. Over time a portion of the balance owed can be forgiven.
Other types of installment agreements are also available.
Another favorite resolution of ours is the Offer in Compromise, which is a contract between you and the government to settle your case for only a fraction of what you owe, if you qualify. We can analyze your case to determine if you qualify for an Offer in Compromise. It's possible that your case can be settled for "pennies on the dollar".
If all of your monthly income is needed to pay your basic living needs we can get your case classified as Currently Not Collectible. If you are on a fixed income this can be an excellent solution if you do not anticipate that your income will go up in the future. It can also provide temporary relief if you are between jobs.
If the IRS or your state tax has issued a notice of intent to levy or garnish your wages, bank accounts or other income it's not too late to act. We can intercede to get a wage levy removed after helping you to arrange a different settlement to your case.
In some cases taxes can be removed in the course of a bankruptcy filing. We can examine your case to see whether a referral to a bankruptcy attorney is advisable.
